Johnson Calls Up Ashton and Hape

Northampton and Former Wigan Warriors Rugby League winger Chris Ashton (who wears Nike Vapor Rugby Boots) has been rewarded for his fine form this season with a place in England’s revised elite squad for the Six Nations.

Ashton currently tops the Guinness Premiership try-scoring charts this season having crossed nine times, with the 22-year-old proving to be a big hit at Franklin’s Gardens since crossing codes from Wigan Warriors.

And Ashton has been Martin Johnson’s new-look squad as an injury call-up in place of the sidelined PhilVickery.

Ashton is joined in fellow rugby league convert Shontayne Hape, Ben Foden, Courtney Lawes (who wears Under Armour Dominate Rugby Boots) and Steve Thompson.

Hape the Bath centre who hasĀ  prevously played for New Zeland Rugby league and Bradford Bulls has been winning Rave Reviews with his strong running, offloading ability and ability to play at both 12 and 13.

Johnson has also recalled Lee Mears, Nick Easter, Delon Armitage, Toby Flood and Riki Flutey after they missed the autumn internationals through injury.

Johnson will make a final decision on Andrew Sheridan and Julian White’s inclusion on January 25, with the two props currently sidelined, while the fitness of Tom Rees, Mike Tindall and Joe Worsley will be closely monitored over the coming weeks.

Personely Lovell Rugby would liked to have seen Young Tigers Prop Dan Cole given a shout and Young Falcons prop John Goulding ago after their impressive form and the age of Julian White and Fitness of Sheridan.

In addition this is the perfect opportunity to Gamble a little in selection giving the likes of Ashton, Hape and Foden ago. Combined with the returning Armitage and Flutey should give England an exciting backline given they get the quick ball from the pack.
