To kick-off our build up to the 6 Nations competition starting on Saturday 1st February, here at Lovell Rugby we are offering you the opportunity to win a pair of rugby boots.
Entering is simple as all you need to do is correctly guess which boot you think will cross the line for the most tries during the 2014 6 Nations tournament. Throughout the competition we will be running a boot scoring table on our Lovell Rugby Facebook site so you can keep track of your predictions after every weekend of action.
To help you decide, we have a compiled a short-list of boots we think are in contention and who exactly will be sporting them on the field.
As worn by George North and Alex Cuthbert (Wales).
Expect there to be plenty of fireworks when the wingers hit top speed and especially look out for the dynamic Welsh duo contributing heavily towards Wales attempting a hat-trick of 6 Nations titles this year.
Need further proof, well British & Irish Lions and Wales wing George North terrorised Australia in them last summer and Alex Cuthbert was also the leading try scorer in the 2013 6 Nations tournament.
The lightest rugby specific boot ever created by adidas, the adiZero RS7 Pro XTR SG Rugby Boot brings lightning fast speed and agility onto the rugby field.
As worn by Brian O’Driscoll & Jonathan Sexton (Ireland) and Leigh Halfpenny (Wales).
When you have the likes of Irish legend Brian O’Driscoll lacing up this boot then you know you are onto a winner. The Irish centre is already the all-time leading tri scorer in the 6 Nations with 26 to his name and expect emotional scenes as he will once again lead by example for a final attempt on silverware. Is it too much to ask for a repeat of the heroics which saw Ireland claim the Grand Slam in 2009 and who will bet against BOD scoring in the final match in France?
This is also the choice of boot for Leigh Halfpenny, last years top points scorer and player of the series during the British & Irish Lions tour of Australia. Voted as Player of the Tournament’ for the 2013 6 Nations, expect the Welsh fullback to make a huge impact in all aspects of the game.
This latest adidas Predator Incurza XT SG Rugby Boot takes to the rugby field as the to continue the highly successful Predator collection which is a popular choice for top level players.
As worn by Chris Ashton & Chris Robshaw (England) and Aurelien Rougerie (France).
Looking to answer his critics and cement his position on the wing, when Chris Ashton is on fire there is no stopping the England and Saracens wing. Having had a rather subdued 2013 tournament and autumn internationals by his standards though, England fans will be hoping he shows signs of the form which saw him finish as joint top try scorer at the RWC 2011, particularly with England hosting the tournament next year.
Heralding a new generation, the Tiempo Legend V SG Rugby Boot exemplifies the Nike ethos for creating the highest level of performance, comfort and style.
As worn by Sam Warburton (Wales), Louis Picamoles (France) and Mauro Bergamasco (Italy).
When you have a rugby boot endorsed by the Wales and British & Irish Lions captain then enough said. Having captained his national side to Six Nations titles for the past two consecutive years, including a 2012 Grand Slam, Sam Warburton will be looking to put behind him the disappointment of being sidelined for the decisive Test match for the Lions against Australia last summer.
A born leader, the Cardiff Blues flanker already has over 40 caps to his name and last year returned from injury to feature in Wales autumn international fixtures.
Every aspect of the adidas FF80 Pro Rugby Boot has been engineered to increase traction in scrums, rucks and mauls; allowing loose forwards to be faster to the breakdown and provide a solid platform for explosive acceleration.
As worn by Richard Hibbard (Wales) and Dylan Hartley (England).
Having played a key role in all three test matches of the 2013 British & Irish Lions tour of Australia last summer as well as the Wales 2013 6 Nations title winning team, Richard Hibbard knows all about what it takes to win at the highest level. The Ospreys hooker has an international career spanning six years and certainly doesn’t go unnoticed every time he steps onto the rugby field.
The latest addition to the popular Legend collection sees the X Blades Legend Speed 6 Stud SG Rugby Boots further enhancing the Australian brands growing reputation for high performance footwear.
To be in with a chance of winning a pair of top rugby boots, simply tell us on our Lovell Rugby Facebook page which you think will be the top try scoring boot in the 6 Nations and you could be the proud owner of that boot. The closing date is 12 noon on Saturday 1st February, with the winner announced on Monday 17th March.
