Lovell Rugby have recently had the opportunity to interview Northampton and Tonga prop Soane Tonga’uiha on his return from the Rugby World Cup, in association with Mizuno.
How Did You Find the Recent Rugby World Cup?
1. I found the world cup really exciting and really honoured to be a part of. The support we got from not only family and friends but from Tongans all over the world was incredible.
What Was Your Highlights of the Tournament?
I think it was obvious what my highlight of the tournament was. “beating France“. Although playing against the All Blacks was up there, but beating a tier 1 team who are now in the semi final was amazing.
What Do You Think of The New Mizuno Wave Samurai Boot?
The new wave samurai is incredible. It’s really light for an 8 studded boot and to have them in a colour other than black is cool too.
How long have you been wearing Mizuno Rugby Boots?
I have been wearing mizuno boots since I arrived in the UK which makes it 7+ years.
What did you make of the Cyber Yellow Colour of the Wave Samurai Boot?
First impression was “WOW”. I thought to myself that my forwards coach at the Saints wouldn’t play me if I wore them. But I managed to wear them at the world cup which I was grateful for.
Are you looking forward to the new Season with Northampton Saints?
I cannot wait any longer to get back into the saints. The props have been playing well so I have to prove myself when I get the opportunity. But really looking forward to it.
Do You have any pre match superstitions?
I don’t really have any pre match superstitions.
