Not to be completely outdone by their rivals revolutionary launch, Nike have taken cover and weathered the adidas storm by revealing a new colourway – the rather imposing ‘Silver Storm Pack’.
Comprising of the Magista, Mercurial, Tiempo and newly designed Hypervenom II, there were certainly a fair share of players lacing up the Swoosh in the Champions League Final and tackling the Three Stripes on their own German soil.
Leading the line, making up somewhat for his World Cup heartbreak, was Neymar with the new DynamicFit Collar of the Hypervenom II while the collection as a whole certainly stood out in Berlin.
Admittedly he may not be much use with his head but put the ball at the feet of Neymar and opponents are immediately on the back foot. With the new Hypervenom II, Nike have done away with the the waffle-like surface of the upper as Flywire cables wrap over the foot for enhanced support while NikeSkin enhances the overall touch and feel. Of course all the talk is of the new DynamicFit Collar applied to the Hypervemom Phantom (pictured) to simply create an enhanced fit and heightened sensation of the boot as an extension of the foot.
Spanning three decades at the top end of the game, the Mercurial still remains the go to boot for those who tear up the pitch at top speed. Whether a fan of the of the high-top Mercurial Superfly packed with Nike’s most innovative technology (Flyknit, Dynamic Ft Collar, NikeSkin, ACC, Brio Cables, carbon plate) or the rather more minimalist and traditional Mercurial Vapor, you can be assured of luxurious comfort that accelerates your game.
Sublime natural comfort and water proof performance, for the purists among you out there then you can’t go wrong with the Tiempo Legend V. Draped in supremely soft kangaroo leather, Hypershield technology helps block out moisture while ACC assures professional performance in all conditions – from Champions League pitches to Sunday park games. Favoured by Tevez and Pirlo, do you really need any further convincing?
Another model in the collection where you have the option of high or low-cut, choose between the Magista Obra and Opus as Nike’s self proclaimed unstoppable play-making boot. For the professionals then the Opus seems to be the preferred option (pictured) but they are missing out on the supreme performance of Flyknit, NikeSkin and Dynamic Fit Collar but each to their own. That said, the Opus does come with supple Kanga-Lite for a supremely natural feel and still has enhanced touch for improved control.
