Ten Cities. One Shirt. - France 7s 2016/17 Home Shirt
December 06, 2016
After the success of Rugby Sevens in Rio, there was plenty of hype around the HSBC Sevens World Series in Dubai last weekend, and in true Rugby Sevens style, the action did not disappoint.
There were tries (268 of them to be precise), a handful of new rules and the debuting of a handful of shirts. Of all of the latter though, there was one that stood out; the France 7’s 2016/17 Home Shirt. For those of you that didn’t catch any of the action and haven’t seen the picture below yet, you may be asking yourself “what stood out about another blue French shirt?” Well, like everything with the sport of Rugby Sevens, it’s been given a twist.
Starting from the top, collegiate navy Three Stripes are draped over either shoulder, which along with the sleeves are the purist of white. The sleeve cuffs are filled in a shiny red, the same as the colour used within the F.F.R. crest and adidas logo on the chest. Onto the body, itself sits a rather fetching graphic which resembles the different time zones around the world, with the hexagons marking the 10 cities hosting the 2016/17 HSBC World Sevens Series. The shirt then fades into a core blue, which pools around the lower area and merges into the reverse.
This is the first time that we have seen adidas produce something like this for the Sevens circuit, and we’re hoping that it isn’t the last! Head over to Lovell Rugby now to order yours.
