There are still plently of quarter final places up for grabs in this seasons Heineken Cup after the fifth round of matches. Only Munster and Leinster have secured their place in the next round and Saracens are all but there going in to their final game.
Rugby Boots spotted from the fifth round of Heineken matches were England new boy Ben Morgan in a pair of black and lime Kooga rugby boots, Harlequins powerful Samoan Maurie Fa’Asavalu wearing Mizuno rugby boots and Ulster winger and Puma Powercat wearer Andrew Trimble. Also featured are Asics wearer Mouritz Botha of Saracens and Ospreys scrum half Kahn Fotuali’i in a pair of the new Adidas Predator RX Rugby Boots.
Morgan got included in the England EPS last week after a solid start to the season for the Scarlets. As he plays in Wales, many England fans will not have seen too much of him but he is a young talent with alot of potential. Morgan could have played for Wales however opted for England as it was his country of birth.
Fa’asavalu has featured heavily for Quins this season after returning from the Rugby World Cup. The Samoan has great ability whilst ball carrying which is ideal for his side as they look to attack at every opportunity. He was signed for Rugby League side St Helens.
Trimble helped himself to two tries as Ulster defeated Leicester on Friday night. His side managed to secure a bonus point win which leave the English side fighting to stay in the competition whilst Ulster have a chance to progress to the quarter finals stage.
Made Stuart Lancasters first EPS squad last week and will be looking to make the starting XV for Englands opening game of the 6 Nations against Scotland. Botha got around the field well against Biarritz and was a safe option at the lineout.
The Samoan international scored his first try for the Ospreys against Treviso after his summer switch from Super 15 side Crusaders. Fotuali’i will be hoping for more game time when the 6 Nations commences in early February.
