Deciding to put on a big show for the launch of their latest collection of Super 15 rugby shirts, adidas chose a selection of New Zealand landmarks to show off their stunning creations for the 2014 season.
With adidas Climalite ingrained into the fabric of each of these rugby shirts, this acts as ventilation and moisture management for your body so that you can stay dry and keep your cool, as the action heats up both on and off the rugby field.

Crossing the Waikato River in Hamilton, Fairfield Bridge was the perfect setting for the launch of the 2014 Chiefs rugby shirt. As back-to-back Super Rugby champions, adidas teamed up with renowned Maori artist Dave Burke and colleagues Luke Crawford and Wally Rifle, to create a jersey that truly embraces the pride and passion of New Zealand’s central North Island.
Centred around three main themes, these are defined as Kotiate (central shape in black) being hand-held clubs used by chiefs in warfare, Awa (flowing yellow kowhaiwhai) are waterways which when combined into a single centralised flow become unstoppable and Ara Poutama (red background) is the stairway to success urging players toward continued development and growth.
The most successful team in Super Rugby history, adidas chose their AMI Stadium in Christchurch to show off the new Crusaders rugby shirt.
For their latest offering, adidas have retained the distinct medieval theme by incorporating chain mail armour into the imposing red design (silver in the alternate version) of the jersey. This battle armour carries the Crusaders into every match and emphatically shows off their unrelenting competitive drive to remain one of the strongest performers in the Super Rugby competition.
Ready to head into any battle, the Crusaders are a champion team with a proud tradition of taking on all-comers and emerging victorious.
With this Auckland Blues rugby shirt, adidas have delivered one of the most stylish designs to have ever been seen in Super Rugby and chose the North Harbour Stadium to make the official launch. Making a connection between the people and their surroundings, a distinct emblem across the chest pays homage to the Blues region boasting the largest Polynesian population alongside stunning landmarks and features.
To further distinguish the design of this rugby shirt, the unions that make up the Blues franchise are incorporated onto the collar, with Northland, North Harbour and Auckland all featuring. Adidas have even gone as far as working with regional leaders to ensure an authentic design that truly captures the essence of the Auckland Blues.
Paying homage to their original 1996 jersey, the power and strength of the hurricane is depicted in a striking yellow design. Each of the provinces that feed into the team are represented on the inside of the shirt collar, ensuring the players are reminded of their roots and the role that rugby plays in maintaining pride in the region.
Hikitia Wharf in Wellington was the floating stage for the launch of the Hurricanes rugby shirt as loyal fans turned out to take in the sight of this giant offering.
