England and Leicester Tigers have been dealt a massive blow as flanker Tom Croft has been ruled out for the rest of the season. Having played in Saturday’s opening Aviva Premiership tie against Worcester, Croft damaged his anterior cruciate ligament and had surgery on Tuesday.
A hugely influential player at both club and international level, Croft also missed much of last season with a neck injury but still played a pivotal role in the winning British & Irish Lions team against Australia this summer.
With Croft out injured, this could open the door for Northampton Saints, Tom Wood, to claim a position in the England team ahead of the autumn internationals as well as the 2014 Six Nations tournament.
As Croft is confined to cheering from the sidelines for the rest of the season, you can also show off your support for your team in the Aviva Premiership with our collection of replica rugby shirts and clothing.
