Here at Lovell HQ, September is one of the busiest times of the year as we welcome a host of exciting new rugby boots, rugby shirts and all manner of clothing and equipment for the new season.
To help guide you through some of the new products which you may have missed out on, we have decided to launch a new monthly blog, simply titled ‘Under the Radar.’ Just as the name suggests, each month we will focus on several new items which we think should form part of your kit bag both on and off the field.
Now the dust has settled and our desks are clear once again, it’s time to sit back and soak up what we took stock of in September.
When it comes to England Rugby, their latest collection has been designed to reflect the rich heritage, style and proud traditions which have helped shape the game. Made by Canterbury, from 100% polyester, this is a replica of the version as sported by the England players themselves during international matches.
Giving the look and feel of a modern rugby jersey together with a looser fit, this Pro version honours the proud traditions of England Rugby. Inspired by the iconic 19th century ‘The Battle of the Roses: Yorkshire v Lancashire’ painting displayed at HQ, red and white colours are brought together in stripes as worn by the teams of the era.
You certainly wont miss the target with X Blades latest offering, which unleashes a powerful blend of stylish design and pure functionality. The TPU Spring Injection panels increase kicking power and accuracy whilst the concealed boot lacing simply enhances the kicking surface area.
Designed to tear into firm natural surfaces, the Sniper employs strategically positioned moulded blades across the forefoot and heel. The elite bionic sole system is made from lightweight TPU with the blades graduated so as to reduce posterior lower limb muscle strain. A subtle feature which can make all the difference in your game.
Released for the current Aviva Premiership season, this Gloucester jersey employs Evaporex II; the next generation of the revolutionary evaporex fabric. Featuring a polyester thermo regulating mix, this wicks perspiration away from your skin leaving you feeling cool whether sported for technical or leisure wear.
Far removed from their traditional red and white home look, this alternate offering sees contrasting navy and pink take over, all be it still retaining a hooped pattern across the shirt. The white collar adds a fresh touch and for the feel of a professional rugby shirt, the sponsors appear in a sublimated design whilst the Gloucester badge is stitched aside the buttoned collar.
Made from 100% synthetic, this ball has been hand stitched and features symmetrical laser cutting for that professional feel to it. The inclusion of a latex bladder ensures the ball keeps its shape whilst the dimpled surface makes for great grip in all conditions.
One of four professional rugby teams from Ireland, Connacht compete in the RaboDirect Pro 12 as well as the Heineken Cup. Made by BLK, from 100% polyester, this jersey offers a replica of the version as sported by the players for the new season.
In true Irish fashion, a distinct green theme to the shirt is joined by black panels and stitching running along the body and sleeves. For the look and feel of a professional rugby shirt all of the sponsors, including the RaboDirect Pro 12 badge, appear in a sublimated format across the body and sleeves.
